Observations: Patterns in Nature

Observing the beauty of patterns in nature while wondering how nature survives within the polluted environment we as humans have created for it.

Bark Patterns in the Mangroves

While walking the Riverwalk Boardwalk along the St. Lucie River in Port St. Lucie, FL yesterday, I was in awe of the patterns that nature delights us with, if only one will take the time to observe.

It saddens my husband to see how brown the water of this estruary is. You can’t see the fish below the surface even in the shallows. He has always fished the rivers, streams and creeks of the Hudson Valley, NY. Yes, it saddens me as well, but I see the little miracles of life that continues to survive admidst air pollution, pesticide runoff and plastic waste.

Observe:The patterns on bark, the twisted entanglement of the mangroves and the ripples of water, the sun reflecting on the river’s surface…
